She had not intended to reclaim her overall popularity; Douglas had simply intended to take part in the floor competition on Saturday. Nevertheless, there were those who thought that a strong showing in Louisville could pave the way for Douglas to earn a spot on the Olympic team for the summer. It is uncertain if these plans are still in motion, as Douglas was absent from the competition on Saturday.
